I sometimes hear stories about entertainers who became famous through pillow arrangements or papa-katsu (compensated dating in Japan). Has anyone here met a papa (a male supporter) in the entertainment industry, or succeeded because of one? I’m pursuing an entertainment career, but I haven’t been getting many well-paying or high-profile opportunities.

Several of my monthly-arrangement partners are involved in show business. They often get approached with offers to sleep their way into opportunities, as well as invitations to drinks from famous artists. I do everything I can to stop them because I know that most of these arrangements only leave the woman losing out. They’re really nothing but shady offers. I want you to assume that any claim like, “I know ___, so I can introduce you,” is a lie. Rather than helping them succeed in entertainment, I support them so they’ll be able to make a living after they retire. In other words, I teach them how to earn money. The entertainment industry is 99% luck, so it’s not something you can simply make work through effort alone.
