When I was in college, I’m embarrassed to admit that I had anorexia. Around the time I was recovering, my boyfriend at the time made me a sugar-free, low-carb cake for my birthday. I still look back on it fondly.
I wouldn’t want to go back to those days, but I still think about it once in a great while.
If we’re talking price alone, it would be the watch I got from my papa (a male supporter). I wear it every day.

The gift that has stayed with me most is a pair of birthstone earrings my older sister gave me when I was in high school.
I had my ears pierced without telling either my parents or my sister, so when she gave me the earrings, I felt like I’d suddenly gained an ally.
I’ve received various things from men over the years too, but they never really moved me in the same lasting way.
Of course, I’m happy when I receive something, but I think it’s more of a short-lived happiness.
As for the most expensive gift, that would be a car.
