At my age, I don’t respond to purely physical or visual stimulation anymore. Feelings and the overall atmosphere matter. Also, after working out my lower-body muscles at the gym, I’ve become more energetic than before. Muscle strength = penis power.

I get erections, including morning erections. When I was somewhat overweight, I sometimes lost my erection during sex, but that stopped after I lost weight and got closer to my ideal weight.

I get hard—but only for women I genuinely click with. If we don’t click, it just doesn’t happen. It’s been that way since I was young. Every now and then, you’ll see a woman who thinks, “I’m young and have a good figure, so just take my clothes off and you’ll get hard, right? If you don’t, that’s your problem.” I can’t help thinking, “What an idiot.” Those are the most shallow ones, lol. Sometimes someone can turn you on for no particular reason, but once the relationship deepens in various ways, it becomes rock-solid. Even when the physical signs of aging start to show, it often doesn’t really matter. I guess it’s a kind of conditioned reflex. Pavlov wins every time. Taro

Wouldn’t men who can’t get it up avoid signing up for dating clubs like this?

I can get an erection. If I’m with a woman I haven’t gotten close to yet, I sometimes lose it partway through, so until we become more comfortable with each other, I need a little help. Once we’re close, I’m perfectly fine without it.
