If that’s your concern, I think managing risk is more important than worrying about whether it might seem rude, so you should ask.
That said, experienced male members apparently can tell just by looking at a profile—and in practice, they were right about 99% of the time.
It seems you can figure it out even when it isn’t written in the profile.
