I feel uncomfortable unless I’ve showered properly, but sometimes I just leave it as is and let the other person decide.
That said, if they haven’t brushed their teeth or showered, I’m not really comfortable taking things further.

I’d prefer it after taking a shower.
If my partner asked me not to shower, I might go along with it. But I wouldn’t want to give oral without showering first.

I believe the basic rule for making things work is not doing anything the other person dislikes.
I have gone down on someone without showering first, but not on a first date.
Please only do that once you’ve gotten close to her and know she’s comfortable with it as part of play.
Also, as Mac mentioned, make sure you shower and brush your teeth beforehand.
