I think that would be pretty unusual.
It’s rare to find both a student who knows about scholarships that are only available to dependents and understands that an allowance doesn’t count as income and won’t affect their dependent status.
It would be even more unusual if a parent told their child to do papa-katsu (compensated dating in Japan) because otherwise they’d lose their dependent status.

I’m a male member who’s pretty much a loser.
If you think it’s normal, then it’s normal.
I consider it “normal” for an A-type woman to initiate an adult relationship after we’ve gone on two dinner dates. I also think it’s normal to provide the best dates possible and give the best allowance I can. At first, I thought what Win does—paying an A-type woman’s rent while having an adult relationship for free—was bizarre. But once I managed to achieve that myself, it started to feel “normal.”
So, I don’t think there’s really any need to ask the people answering here whether something is normal or not.
