About transportation expenses: How clearly does the club explain to men that they’re supposed to give the allowance upfront? Aside from one person who said he didn’t want to do it in front of others, no one has ever properly given it to me in advance.

Maezawa from Shacho-shitsu here—I’ll answer this one as well. As for the club’s rules, I think in most cases they’re only explained when men join the club. (The same probably applies to women.) However, men who joined before the rules were changed were likely only notified by email. The rule changes took effect on Wednesday, June 21, 2017, so men who joined before then would be considered older members who never received a direct explanation. An email titled “Notice and Request to All Male Members” was sent to all male members on June 20, 2017. That said, I don’t think there are that many members who joined quite that long ago. So perhaps these are members who were told about the rules when they joined but are simply ignoring them. It’s a bit like people continuing through an intersection even though a red light means stop, wouldn’t you say? Breaking the rules isn’t good, and if the club receives a report like that, we’ll explain the rules to the man again. But in reality, the connection between two people is what matters most. Rather than focusing on blaming him for breaking the rules, I think it would be better to consider how you can make things work with that particular man and act accordingly. Instead of getting upset over whether the 10,000-yen transportation allowance is paid before or after, I think it’s better to focus on having an enjoyable time and receiving your allowance properly.

I’m Kazu, a male member. When I joined last year, they pointed to a document listing the important guidelines in bullet points and read through them while explaining everything to me. They were that thorough, but members who joined years ago say they never received that kind of explanation, so it may vary depending on when you joined and who was in charge.

I’m Nana Ayase☆ Basically, the transportation money is usually paid upfront, but I think it’s fine if you receive it when you leave… For an adult relationship (intimate), though, it would be great to negotiate beforehand and receive it once you get to the hotel. Then you can focus entirely on the H♡

I make it a rule to hand over the transportation money—including the allowance—within three minutes of meeting. Most often, I give it to her right after the server brings us water or a hand towel and returns to their station. For a first dinner date, I’ll sometimes place it on the table in advance. A bank envelope won’t do, but if you use a nice, slightly upscale envelope, it doesn’t look out of place at all. I honestly don’t understand why so many papas don’t make the effort to hand over the allowance smoothly and upfront—it’s foreplay in itself. But when there are so many bad papas out there, it’s easy to stand out from the competition and become her favorite papa, so I suppose it’s not necessarily a bad thing from my perspective. —Loser Guy

Maybe it was so insignificant that you don’t even remember whether it happened or not… Rather than getting the allowance upfront, what matters more is your compatibility and whether he’s a good person. —Paper Airplane
