I usually delete their unread messages and block them if I’ve only met them a few times, but for people I’d been seeing for over six months, I would tell them some plausible reason, like getting a boyfriend or moving away, and thank them. Every now and then, someone sends a somewhat emotionally unstable reply, and it becomes such a hassle that I’m starting to think it might be fine to just delete everyone’s messages unread and block them. Would it really be a problem to respond that way even to someone I’d met many times?
