> Why would they sign up for a dating app when the going rates are lower there?
Is that really the case?
Whenever I mention the allowance, the branch seems to receive complaints that it’s too high.
(Perhaps people have gotten used to it lately, since that doesn’t seem to happen as often.)
If so, I assume the men making those complaints are offering allowances comparable to—or lower than—those on apps.
I wish those people would use the apps instead, but they seem to end up using Universe, where they have a much higher chance of meeting someone.
And for some reason, those same people then seem to think:
“I’m contributing to Universe by paying the setting fee properly, so how dare you try to make me pay extra money—an allowance? That’s unacceptable.”
Yet they don’t seem to consider that this could have a negative impact on Universe’s future.
Of course, if the women are satisfied with their allowance, there’s no problem.
But it’s unfortunate that the existence of men offering low allowances becomes apparent precisely because the women aren’t satisfied.

You were put off by something that minor…?
I think that actually makes her more endearing.

papa-katsu (compensated dating in Japan) has become much more casual, so perhaps more women are using dating sites alongside it. Since you’re also looking at dating sites, you’re probably part of the same casual crowd as that woman. I’d say you’re both in the same boat.

I’m Teramoto from Universe Club’s Tokyo branch, and I’d like to answer as well.
I assume you’re a male club member—is that correct…?
I believe you’re probably referring to the “comment from the woman.” If it’s a club comment, male members are prohibited from showing it to female members under the club’s rules, so that would be a serious issue…
Personally, I don’t particularly mind if multiple women use the same “comment from the woman.” Many women register because they’re looking for financial support, so I feel it’s perfectly natural for them to write the comment they think will make men most likely to approach them, increasing their chances of receiving an offer or being contacted.
I’m not sure whether you use multiple apps or clubs, but some male members also use apps and services other than Universe Club. So, I don’t think this is something you need to worry about too much.

She’s getting anxious because offers just aren’t coming in. You should hurry up and rescue her, questioner.
And you’re scrutinizing women’s profiles too, huh? How many other sketchy apps are you on? That’s terrifying—I’m so put off.

So what?
Why would I go out of my way to browse cheap dating sites? And the fact that you noticed I reused my profile text is honestly a bit off-putting.

It’s probably because she’s worried she won’t get any offers.
On an app, regardless of whether you actually meet, you’ll get tons of messages, right? Maybe that gives her a strange sense of reassurance.
If you like her, why not make her an offer sooner?
Though… if she turns out to be someone you should avoid, that’s scary.

I don’t think anyone can know the real reason unless they’re the person involved, but I think it’s because, with a dating club, all you can do is wait for offers to come in.
I don’t know the going rates on Paters, but isn’t it probably similar to a dating app?
