The man I’m seeing is against me getting cosmetic surgery, but I absolutely want to do it. He says, “You get tired of beautiful women after three days. Work on your inner beauty rather than your appearance.” I agree that I should work on my inner self, but obviously it’s better to look good too. He thinks I haven’t had any work done, but I’ve been getting cosmetic procedures since middle school and have spent over ¥1 million on my current face. I wasn’t blessed with good looks to begin with, so it’s not like I’m especially cute. I was still Platinum at the club. If I had my pre-surgery face, this man probably wouldn’t have offered to see me in the first place. Is appearance important? Could he cut me off if I got cosmetic surgery without telling him?

Maezawa from the CEO’s office here. > The man I’m dating opposed me getting plastic surgery, but I absolutely want to do it. This isn’t limited to plastic surgery. If a man says, “You should do this,” and she deliberately does the opposite, I take it to mean that she doesn’t really care about him. If you’re going to do it despite his objections, I think that means you’re okay with breaking up. Instead of asking, “Will he leave me?” you’re choosing to do something that may make him leave you. If you were determined to get plastic surgery regardless of his opinion, I think you should have just done it without telling him in the first place. I don’t understand the point of telling someone when their opinion doesn’t matter to you. > Your face is important, right? I’m not sure about the exact cost, but up to around ¥1 million in surgery, you may continue to look better. Beyond that, though, I get the impression that the more money people spend, the stranger their faces become. Even when their face clearly looks odd, they themselves are satisfied with it. That’s how it seems to me. So if you continue getting plastic surgery, the people around you will probably feel that your appearance is getting worse. If your face is important, why would you make it look worse? Since it’s important, I think you look best as you are now.

I’m BB7, a male member. Some people will move on, and some won’t. Everyone has their own values. If you want to get cosmetic surgery, then go ahead. Whether someone else accepts it is up to them. It’s not about being right or wrong. That’s all there is to it.

Ayase Nana ♡ Your eyes, nose, and mouth are all in the right places, right? You should probably stop getting cosmetic surgery. I’m undergoing orthodontic treatment myself, and there’s someone who has become distant even though I told him beforehand. During our date, he even put his fingers in my mouth and stared intently at it, apparently disappointed that there was something foreign inside. He also choked me, though… If someone goes against the other person’s wishes and refuses to listen, I think it will probably end in goodbye. You really don’t need to worry that much about your appearance. After all, you were still getting offers, weren’t you?

I’m Taro, a male member. I’d also say, “Invest in your inner qualities rather than your looks,” but that doesn’t mean I’m against cosmetic surgery. I just think the cost-to-benefit ratio can be poor. Sometimes a woman may feel self-conscious about something even though everyone around her sees her as beautiful—I’ve met women with exactly that kind of concern. That said, honestly, I understand that some people are at a point where they’d benefit from changing their appearance. Even though everyone has different tastes, there may be no truth more important than what you’ve personally felt throughout your life. Even if the cost-effectiveness is poor, I think it’s perfectly valid to spend a lot of money to obtain something you really want. Male members also invest significant amounts in introduction fees to meet attractive women, so in a sense, it cuts both ways. So, to answer your question: people may oppose you, and some may even cut ties with you. But you’re making this decision on a much deeper level than that, so don’t let it break you—keep moving forward.

I’m Paper Airplane, a male member. I still think it’s better to work on your inner qualities. Men want to feel relied on and needed. If he finds out, he may think, “Even though I was so firmly against it…” and there’s a good chance he’ll start feeling distant. That said, I assume it’s the kind of surgery that won’t be noticeable if you don’t tell him…

I’m Aya, a female member. > If I secretly got plastic surgery without telling my papa, could he cut me off? That really depends on how close you are with your papa. If you’re very close, you could go ahead with the surgery, wait until the swelling and recovery period are over, and then explain everything as sincerely as possible. I think he’d probably understand. Or rather, he might end up thinking, “No matter how much I say, it’s already done, so there’s nothing I can do,” and simply accept it. I once asked a cosmetic surgeon about this, and apparently people naturally get used to things. Even if their partner’s face changes a little, they gradually become accustomed to it and quickly forget what the original looked like. So there’s a good chance your papa will get used to your “after” too. However, if you aren’t that close, he may not be willing to listen, and could end up losing interest in you.

Looks matter. But if I were that man, I’d end things if you secretly got plastic surgery. He presumably likes your face the way it is, and I wouldn’t appreciate being consulted only to have my opinion ignored. Marika

I’m Date◎Yume, a male member. The woman I’m currently seeing has also had plastic surgery. She said exactly the same thing you did, and I said the same thing as the man you’re seeing. Looks only matter at the time of the initial offer. After that, the relationship is about the woman herself, and her appearance is only one part of that. In that sense, I think he’s telling you to work on your inner qualities rather than your outward appearance. Besides, once you actually have the surgery, people may just say, “What did you have done?”—it might not make that much difference(笑) I’m sure it depends a lot on the man, but I’ve continued seeing her for three years now. That’s because of the way she treats me, not her appearance. Even after surgery, he may just say, “What did you have done?” If you continue working on your inner qualities even more diligently than before, I don’t think he’ll cut ties with you.
