If adult videos and sex education didn’t exist, would humans still be able to have sex?

I’m BB7, a male member. Is embracing someone purely instinctive? It seems some Indigenous people in Africa only have sex for the purpose of having children—apparently they’re extremely dispassionate. I once saw a Japanese woman who had married into an Indigenous community there expressing her dissatisfaction on TV.

I’m Maezawa from the CEO’s office, and I’ll answer this one too. Even in the days before the internet, DVDs, or videos, people still had sex. Back then, erotic books and magazines like HOTDOG probably served as references. But in the first place, everything was censored (and underground books were difficult to obtain), so people didn’t really know the specifics. They learned vaguely through still images or stories passed down by friends and older acquaintances. If you go back to a time before books existed, it was probably mainly passed on by word of mouth. Also, in every era, there were probably legendary women—older women who would initiate men sexually. Perhaps men who had those experiences would tell their friends or younger acquaintances. Or maybe couples who were both virgins and initially struggled would eventually figure things out, then proudly share what they had learned with their friends or younger acquaintances. When you think about it that way, even without adult videos or sex education, people would still be able to have sex. Humans still have their instincts, after all. Even if nobody teaches them, I feel that people who are going to do it will find a way.

I’m Shingo Lee (“Shingori”), a male member. I enjoy books about hunter-gatherer tribes, so I love topics like this. Hunter-gatherer tribes are people who still hunt and live in nature. Suppose a human being grew up without ever meeting anyone, reached adulthood, and then met someone of the opposite sex for the first time. What would happen? Apparently, they wouldn’t be able to have sex. Wild children—humans raised by something other than humans—generally don’t seem to have any interest in sex or sexual activity. There was apparently one case where the person seemed restless, unable to understand the source of the overwhelming urge they felt, but most showed no interest at all. [In conclusion, humans can’t have sex through instinct alone.] When you watch documentaries about hunter-gatherer tribes, it seems that people learn from their elders. What about us? In fact, there’s still no single correct model for sex with love or sex for fun. What we consider “right” in sex depends on each person’s values. Even among hunter-gatherer tribes, sexual practices differ from tribe to tribe. In one tribe, people apparently have sex after spending the night making merry, dancing, and getting caught up in the excitement. In another, they quietly do it out of sight of others, without any foreplay at all. AV is important in the sense that it presents us with different options, but it can also get in the way of finding what truly matters to each individual. The most important part of sex is communication and finding common ground in your values. The right answer differs depending on your partner. Isn’t it important to keep that in mind?
