He modified his business cards so they could hold ¥10,000, and handed those out to increase the chances of receiving a reply. I’ve even heard stories of him giving allowances worth hundreds of thousands of yen. When President Kida heard about someone like that, he apparently thought, “I want to go meet him. I really want to meet him.” But he was busy running the company, kept putting it off, and then Mr. Nozaki passed away. He regretted it, thinking, “I should have gone to meet him right away instead of saying I was too busy.” Whether he was a Universe member is personal information, so I can’t comment. There may be some famous people who are current members, but employee staff conduct the membership interviews, so the president actually doesn’t get to meet applicants very often.
