I’m Kazu, a male member. I understand what the questioner is getting at. I haven’t used soaplands or delivery health services over the past year, but before that, I relied on them for nearly a decade. I remember visiting most of the places considered high-end soaplands. I get tested regularly, and I’ve never contracted an STI through them. In my life, I’ve only gotten tested twice outside of my regular screenings because I thought there might be a problem. Once was when I was younger and the hostess I was starting to date had a really alarming odor down there. The other time was when a woman from a dating club contacted me to say she had contracted an STI. In the end, I’ve never actually caught one, but I can also understand the view that amateurs may be scarier because they tend to be less careful about managing the risks than sex workers.

What I meant was that if a male club member also goes to sex establishments, he becomes even more dangerous—potentially worse than a sex worker. Besides, what they’re looking for—and what satisfies them—is fundamentally different. Club women would understandably feel uncomfortable if a man came to them while still desensitized from that environment. After all, club women fulfill needs that sex establishments can’t.
