I think that if a man realizes your value while he’s with you, he won’t want to lose you—and that’s why the relationship continues.
There are answers on this anonymous Q&A site saying that relationships continue for reasons beyond just looks. I think that’s exactly what it comes down to.

I’m sure there are some, but I think the more popular a man is, the more likely he is to be the former.
Eiichi Shibusawa, who will appear on the next 10,000-yen bill, apparently had around 50 children. We call 10,000-yen bills “Yukichis” now, but in three years, will we be calling them “five Shibusawas”? He really is a fitting face for the bill.
I wonder if Ryo Yoshizawa in the historical drama will go on to love many beautiful women from the Meiji era.
The emperors of old, shoguns of the Edo shogunate, and Sengoku warlords also loved—or perhaps I should say, had relationships with—many women.
