We sincerely apologize for you having received a promotional email from our company.
Let me explain the possible cause.
Until March 2020, we primarily managed customer information in three separate places: the member site’s administrative system (CMS), a MySQL database hosted on Microsoft Azure, and the address book in our email system.
When sending promotional announcements, we imported the above data into a separate mailing tool and sent them out.
As stated in our privacy policy, we process requests to correct or delete personal information as soon as we receive them.
In April, we made major changes to our customer management system. At that time, we migrated data with registration logs and member information into our customer management software.
We also migrated the promotional mailing list and the do-not-contact list. However, because the email address itself had been deleted from the system in 2018, it may have been restored from the registration-log list.
The purpose of changing our systems and centralizing our data was to prevent mistakes like this, but unfortunately, it ended up causing this situation. We sincerely apologize.
There is an unsubscribe button at the bottom of the email you received. If you click it and then press the confirmation button, you will not receive any more emails. For now, this is the most reliable way to stop them.
If we receive inquiries from the police or any other party, we will respond sincerely. However, even if requested by the police, we cannot provide our customer lists. We will explain what happened in this case and work to prevent it from happening again.
We are truly sorry for causing you concern about your private email address being registered with a dating club and about whether it had actually been deleted.
To prevent crime and trouble, our company retains logs containing user information for a certain period of time. We hope you understand.
