Normally, even when we expect someone to be able to register in about two days, we usually say it may take around a week, just to be safe. So I’m not sure why a staff member told you it would take about two days.
Could it be that, during your interview, they said something like, “We’ll contact you in about two days. If you don’t hear from us, please assume you weren’t accepted”?
You won’t get anywhere by worrying about it here, so I think it would be best to contact the branch where you applied and ask them directly about the result.

Normally, the process is supposed to be completed within a week, so it seems that the usual timeframe hasn’t passed yet.
It’s also possible that the person in charge happened to take time off, causing a delay. In that case, you could still be accepted even if it takes longer.
There may also have been some sort of mix-up, and your application may have been accepted but simply left unattended.
*This is unrelated to your question, but the President’s Office has been renamed the Corporate Planning Office.
Since the Corporate Planning Office sounds like it could issue instructions to branches nationwide regarding company management, it almost seems to have more authority than the President’s Office—but honestly, I’m not entirely sure. (笑)
