> Are women placed into different classes based solely on their appearance?
Not solely on appearance, but appearance does have a major influence.
For most staff members, I’d say it’s roughly 80% appearance and 20% personality.
When I conduct interviews myself, I tend to judge applicants about 50% on appearance and 50% on who they are inside, so I don’t think I was particularly popular with the men.
The other staff would sometimes say things like, “Why is she in this class?” (laughs)
Still, I think personality is important.
If someone cares only about looks, why not just have the person undergo cosmetic surgery? Taking it to an extreme, wouldn’t a doll be enough?
I think what’s inside is both the enjoyable and the difficult part of human connection. But the world doesn’t quite work that way, so when we cater to demand, appearance ends up being prioritized.
> Even if a woman has an attractive appearance and personality, is she ever placed in a class one level lower because she doesn’t have a dream or some other reason?
If she has a good appearance and personality, I don’t think her dreams would affect her class placement.
However, whether a man actually wants to support her is a separate issue. So I think having dreams and a desire to improve oneself are important in determining whether she comes across as someone men would want to support.
