Everyone here can tell that the chairman and the new president of Coco Ichibanya (②②) are definitely involved, right?

Business is about using every means available to work your way to the top. To me, this just sounds like resentment from ordinary people who couldn’t make it. What’s so wrong with being a mistress or using sex to advance your career? I honestly don’t understand. If it gets you the status or money you want, it’s simply one of the tools at your disposal—no different from conversation skills or other abilities. If you’re jealous, then go get it yourself. Compared with the pathetic people who resent others and post defamatory comments online, they seem far more determined and respectable. So why do people attack them while waving around some meaningless sense of justice? I truly don’t understand. I guess resentment is just the flip side of envy. Well, this is a world that’s extremely accepting of papa-katsu (compensated dating in Japan), after all lol.

Japan’s food-service industry is completely stuck, isn’t it? Low productivity due to excessive customer service, long working hours, and labor shortages caused by the declining birthrate and aging population. Isn’t this a strategy to put “the young, the foolish, and outsiders” in charge and spark innovation? If the media covers it as “hiring a mistress,” applications from part-time workers would increase without spending anything on advertising. The former president is clearly a real operator, and we’re all just dancing in the palm of his hand—including with this question.

There may be plenty of stories like that with small businesses and startups, but I get a different feeling from the curry shop situation. When it’s obvious to everyone that people would see it that way, going public in the media would only bring disadvantages. If anything, I think it’s more likely that their relationship isn’t what people assume. These days, it’s not unusual for someone to be a 22-year-old founder and CEO. But she’s not the head of CoCo Ichibanya itself; she runs a franchise location, right? Annual sales of ¥2.2 billion is substantial for the restaurant industry, but she’s still on the side that executes an established format effectively. In a world where 90% of the job is on-the-ground management rather than business strategy, that’s arguably even more difficult. I’m sure she must be exceptionally good at developing naïve, fragile part-time workers. As for you, Questioner, there’s nothing wrong with posting here out of jealousy, but why not apply for a part-time job and actually work under her? If things turn out the way you imagine, you can post that you found evidence; if not, you’ll grow tremendously yourself. Either way, it seems like a worthwhile gamble to me. Taro

It’s fine if she gets hired as a mistress, as long as she delivers results. She should make the most of her good looks.
