I’m a Standard-class Universe member. (Several of the men I’ve met were Standard members as well.)
I understand that, at Universe, the lounge is for Gold-class members and above. Does that mean I can’t interview for Universe Lounge unless I’m Gold or higher? Even if I do apply, is it almost certain that I’ll be rejected?

So you consider yourself a Standard woman at Universe Club, right? Did a man tell you that…?
Even if you’re registered as Standard at Universe Club, there’s no problem with applying for an interview at the lounge. I wouldn’t put much stock in that interviewer’s judgment.
That said, applicants aged 45 or older are more likely to be turned away.
The claim that the lounge only has Gold women and above is just advertising aimed at men! Haha.

Your appearance can change significantly through dieting, strength training, skincare, makeup, cosmetic procedures, and so on. If you’re making an effort, you may have a good chance of being accepted!

Both matchmaking izakayas and matchmaking karaoke venues are all about how many women they can attract.
So if she’s a woman who has received an offer before, she’ll probably get accepted. Unlike women who are just looking for a free meal or free karaoke, simply being registered with the club should be enough.

I can’t say for sure since I’ve never seen you, but how the interviewer views you will depend on the staff member.
Don’t overthink it—just go for it and see what happens.

I’ve never been to Universe Lounge, but no one can know whether you’ll pass the interview, so I think it’s worth going and giving it a try.
I personally got accepted by SALON, but I wasn’t particularly confident that I would. I’m not exactly young, and there’s nothing especially remarkable about me either. So, as with anything, I think the important thing is to take the first step and see what happens.

To cut to the chase, if you’re interested, I think it’s worth going to the interview.
I feel like class placement can vary quite a bit depending on the impression of the person conducting the interview. It’s not just about personal preferences regarding looks—it also seems to reflect things like personality, attitude, and how seriously you view papa-katsu (compensated dating in Japan).
So after making an offer, there have been quite a few times when I’ve thought, “Ah, so this is why she was placed in the class below XX rather than XX class…”
For example, let’s say you have the looks for Gold class, but you’re late to the interview and don’t seem particularly concerned about it. In that case, they might decide that registering you as Standard would be the safer choice. They might even mention it in your profile.
However, if someone makes an offer and the feedback is positive, they may understand that “the lateness was just a one-time thing,” which could lead to you receiving several offers.
Also, at a lounge, you’re already there on-site, so the risk of being late for a date doesn’t really apply. That probably means being late to the interview may have a different impact on the screening criteria as well.

Even within the same group of companies, the interview standards differ.
Even if you’re classified as Standard, if you received several offers, I think you may still be accepted by the lounge.
Conversely, if you’re Gold but didn’t receive a single offer, you might possibly be rejected.
I rarely had the chance to be involved with the lounge, so I have almost no information on what criteria they use for hiring. (I was part of the launch team for SALON, so I had that information. I was also involved with PATOLO to a small extent. But for some reason, I had no connection with the lounge. lol)
It’s only natural that the hiring standards differ depending on the staff member handling the interview. I also think they change depending on the timing.
If they feel there aren’t enough women, the standards will probably be more relaxed. If they feel there are plenty of women, the standards will likely be stricter.
For now, I recommend applying.
Since you received offers, you may be a Standard member closer to Gold, so I think you have a chance of being accepted.
If you interview on a day when there aren’t many women coming in and say something like, “I’d like to join, and I’m planning to stay for about three hours after this,” they may want you to stick around, which could make the hiring standards more relaxed as well.
