After we went on a trip, I messaged him asking if we could meet on a weekend like we usually do. He said he’s busy this month with a trial and other things, and that next month might be difficult too because things will be reaching a critical stage. Does this mean he’s trying to end things with me…?

I don’t know any business owners around me who are busy with court cases, and even when they do have a case, I don’t know anyone who personally gets that busy as the company president. A divorce case might keep someone busy since they’re directly involved. I’ve never sued anyone or been sued myself, but I have a corporate lawyer, so I take various precautions in advance to avoid that happening. It might be different if your papa (a male supporter) were a lawyer or worked in a legal department. Since his business is still developing, every month is extremely hectic. But he also needs time to unwind, so if you’re someone important to him, he’ll make time for you. It’s possible that you did something problematic during the trip, or that you simply aren’t that important to him. But this could genuinely be the reason, so I think you should wait a little longer. Of course, that means you probably won’t be receiving your allowance for a while.

I still have an ongoing court case, so that does happen from time to time. But since I have a lawyer handling it, I’m not actually that busy. It’s a perfect excuse when you need a reason. That said, it can weigh on you mentally. But then I feel like I need to go on dates to keep myself going, so if anything, I tend to go on more dates. So if someone becomes unable to meet for a reason serious enough to make the other person worry, it might be a sign that they’re okay with ending things.

Being busy with court cases is pretty common among business-owner papas. My papa also has a few civil lawsuits involving things like profit distribution—just to be clear, he’s the one bringing the lawsuits. He’s always saying, “What a pain.” Even when they’re busy, many papas still make time to see their favorite women—if anything, it helps them relieve stress. So if he says he’ll be busy this month and next month too, I think he’s indirectly turning you down. It’s disappointing, but you can’t control how someone else feels. I’d recommend looking for a new papa to help you feel more emotionally secure. That will ultimately give you more breathing room and increase your chances of meeting an even better papa.

That sounds scary. A court case… I wonder what it is. Divorce mediation?

Putting the lawsuit aside, saying that work is reaching a critical stage is something I often use too. I may exaggerate a little, but it’s true that work and other commitments have left me with less time. I’ve used up the time I had available on new offers or girls I especially liked, but that doesn’t mean I want to be the one to say goodbye. If they decide to cut ties with me, I’ll just have to accept it. More often than not, they’ve either ended things with me or I’ve gone back to them once I had more free time. So keep looking for other men, and wait for a while.

It’s strange that even though you’re close enough to travel together, you can’t take what they say at face value.

How would anyone else know? Just ask them. Are you socially inept or something?
