Joining us does not make you an employee, so you will not be listed in the employee register. You also will not receive a salary from Universe. Since you receive your allowance directly from the man, this does not constitute employment, and the allowance you receive from him is considered a gift. We explain during the interview that it should therefore be declared as a gift, not as income.

Which company are you worried you might become an employee of? You won’t become an employee of Universe Club. As the term “membership” suggests, you’ll simply become a member. In most cases, you also won’t become an employee of your papa’s company. That said, if your papa formally hires his dating partner through his company, she may be listed in the employee register. Apparently, some arrangements take this form when the woman wants to enroll in social insurance, or when the papa wants to evade or reduce taxes, and pays her allowance as wages.

I didn’t sign up to work. I signed up to be matched with someone for a mutually consensual relationship. If you think of it as a job, you’re better off quitting. It’ll take a toll on your mental health.

The women who sign up aren’t employees. The allowance they receive through papa-katsu (compensated dating in Japan) is a gift, not wages. In other words, they aren’t listed in the employee register.
