If you’re expecting something specific just because of the membership tier you register for, you’re better off not upgrading.
Basically, you should only upgrade when there’s someone in the Black women’s category you really want to make an offer to.
Originally, Black men could make offers to Black women. That was all.
So by going from being able to make an offer to actually making one, you’ve taken an action that only Black members can take.

When I was a Platinum member, I often wrote in my answers that there was probably no need to upgrade to Black…
But in the end, all the women I liked have become Black-level women.
I imagine it would be a great benefit for men who want to keep introducing women before they’re made public.

I make offers regardless of a woman’s class, but most of the women I’ve ended up dating have been Black or Secret, so I can’t imagine considering anyone other than Black.

For the first few days after a profile goes public, the main advantage is that Black members can make offers to newly registered women ahead of Platinum members.
As mentioned in the earlier question, you can tell at a glance which women will be flooded with offers, so being able to approach them before they’re hidden or premium fees are added is probably the biggest perk of Black membership.
Another simple benefit is being able to make offers to women in the Black class. Of course, some women in the Platinum class are prettier than those in the Black class, but the Black class has more women who make you think, “As expected from Black,” and leave you speechless.
The presence of your assigned representative is also a big factor. My ace was introduced to me by my representative before she went public, so I’ll be forever indebted to them.

I used to be blacklisted, but personally, I can’t say I had many good experiences during that time.
The only real advantage was that they introduced me to “secret” women.
