I was planning to go to the salon before meeting my monthly papa tomorrow, but he had to reschedule for next week due to work, so I’d like to cancel my salon appointment as well.
However, the treatment costs around ¥30,000, and the salon’s policy says that cancellations the day before must be made by phone. It doesn’t say anything about a cancellation fee, though.
I’ve been going to this salon once a month for a year and a half, and I’ve never canceled or been late before.
・Apologize by phone and say I’d like to reschedule for next week
・Apologize by phone, reschedule for next week, and still go in tomorrow for just a treatment
Which would be the more considerate thing to do?
Looking at tomorrow’s appointment availability, there are still openings after my scheduled treatment time, so it seems the salon would have enough time even if I went in just for the treatment.
I absolutely love going to the salon. Even if it’s just a treatment, it still costs money, right? I totally get it, haha.
Why not go this time for yourself—not for your papa? A little treat for yourself♪

As an apology, I’d probably bring something nice for the stylist who usually handles my hair. I give them something every time, though, so it might not really count as an apology…
I actually had the opposite happen. During Golden Week, the salon called to ask, “Your stylist has become a close contact of someone who tested positive—what would you like to do?”
Given the circumstances these days, they’re probably used to last-minute cancellations, so I’m sure it’ll be fine〜

With something like this, the sooner you get in touch, the better. First, call them as soon as possible to reschedule the earlier appointment and show that you’re acting in good faith.
In any case, call them right away.
The salon will want to know as soon as possible.
Besides, since your plans after the salon have been pushed back to next week, it makes perfect sense to change the reservation accordingly. There’s nothing strange about it.
