As for “anything else”—
Until January, there wasn’t even that benefit.
Basically, the main advantage is that you can make offers to Platinum women.
More and more people have started asking, like you, “Are there any other benefits?” So some kind of differentiation became necessary—such as showing women by tier, or limiting users to viewing only women in the next class up.
If people start asking again, “Are there any benefits besides that?” they may eventually need to add a feature that only lets men view women in their own class or below.
I joined at Gold, then moved up to Platinum, then Black, back to Gold, and now I’m Platinum again.
As Mac mentioned, when renewal time gets close, moving up a class gives you a one-year renewal from that point, so I often make use of that system.
The second time I moved from Gold to Platinum, I still had six months left before renewal, but there was a woman I really wanted to make an offer to.
Her star rating was only one, by the way. But when I made an offer, she asked for a pay-per-meeting allowance of 80,000 yen, so I thought, “Ah, so this is probably why her rating was lowered.”
She was very polite and a lovely girl, so I gave her an extra two points in the survey, bringing her up to a two-star rating. However, the 80,000-yen pay-per-meeting allowance was too much for me, so we parted ways.
Personally, I feel like I’ll probably drop back down to Gold when it’s time to renew again.
