Are there any questions you always ask on a first date? I ask women which Demon Slayer character they like, then analyze the kind of man they’re into and see how well they handle the question. Sometimes they get confrontational and say things like, “I’ve never even watched Demon Slayer” or “Why are you suddenly asking me that?” When that happens, I immediately decide there’s no chance of an arrangement with her.

I’m columnist Fuu. A Demon Slayer personality quiz, lol. “What? You don’t even know which Upper Rank Akaza is?” No way I’m dating someone like that—goodbye. People who haven’t watched Demon Slayer are at a huge disadvantage. The woman who gets this offer will probably be disappointed if the conversation suddenly turns to Demon Slayer. It’d be unfair if only Demon Slayer fans could survive, so you should tell her, “Please only accept offers from people who’ve watched Demon Slayer.” Poor thing. That’s hilarious! P.S. Why not make the questioner’s club name something like “Rengoku Tanjiro”? lol

I’ll answer too—Maezawa from the CEO’s office. Judging someone based on which Demon Slayer character they like is just way too narrow-minded... It honestly makes me sad to think there are men like this out there. If a man said he liked Demon Slayer when applying to join, maybe they should just reject his application. For example, what would you think if Universe Club had something like this written about male applicants? “We ask which Sailor Moon characters they like, analyze their ideal type in women, and assess how adaptable they are. Every now and then, someone gets confrontational and says, ‘I’ve never watched Sailor Moon,’ or ‘Why are you suddenly asking me that?’ When that happens, we immediately think, ‘There’s no way we’re letting this man join.’” You’d think that was ridiculous, right? Although maybe some people would surprisingly think that was perfectly reasonable. But from a normal perspective, you’d expect people to find it strange. Apparently, the person asking this question doesn’t see it that way, though. Then again, Sailor Moon has more characters than Demon Slayer, so perhaps you could actually analyze someone based on it... Maybe Re:Zero would be better? No, that has quite a few characters too. “How about asking which character they like in Overlord?” There are fewer humans in that one, so maybe that level would be more appropriate? It seems pretty difficult to get the point across... “How about asking which species they’d like to experience in Interspecies Reviewers?” That might work too. Wait... What were we talking about again?

I’m Aya, a female member. You just mean it as a conversation starter, right? If so, that’s fine—but please be careful not to overdo it.

I’m a male member who’s never had much success. Since it’s the man’s ability to handle the situation that’s being evaluated, I focus entirely on creating an atmosphere where the woman feels comfortable talking, rather than asking lots of questions. You referred to her as “this girl,” but honestly, it would be difficult to help a woman relax from that point onward. No matter how large the age gap, I always use polite language with women. Even if a woman speaks casually to me, I continue speaking politely. I never even mix in casual speech. Perhaps I would stop using polite language after entering an adult relationship (intimate), though. Naturally, I’ve never thought of a woman as “this girl” in my mind, either. I always keep a deep sense of respect for women and do everything I can to make them feel, “Maybe I could trust myself to this person.” So of course, there’s no such thing as “always ask this question.” I simply have a firm determination to make her feel completely at ease. Some women can be a little cheeky, but isn’t that cute too? What matters is accepting everything about them. There are no questions that absolutely have to be asked.

I’m Dai, a male member. The one question I always ask is whether she’d be open to considering an adult relationship going forward, regardless of her type. I think you can usually tell to some extent during the first meeting whether even a Type B woman would absolutely rule it out. (I’d invite her the next time, though…) I haven’t watched Demon Slayer either. If you suddenly asked that, it’d be perfectly normal for her to wonder, “Why are you suddenly asking me that?” You may be choosing women because you’re paying them, but they’re choosing you too.

I’m Kazu, a male member. No, not necessarily. I don’t always ask whether they’d consider an adult relationship with me or what allowance they’re looking for. Sometimes I don’t even ask for their contact information.
