When I ask if there’s any for me, she beats me down, saying, “There isn’t any. Go eat out.”
So I have no choice but to eat out—or cook a meal for one at home… Shabu-shabu is easy to make right away, though. Lonely one-person shabu-shabu…

I’m in Seattle.
I’m single, and I go out for conveyor-belt sushi by myself almost every day. I also have a housekeeper come once a week to prepare meals in advance. I hardly ever cook for myself.
I don’t feel lonely at all. I enjoy eating all kinds of food with my monthly arrangement partner, so when I occasionally eat alone, it’s actually a relief.

I’m not single, but I’m currently living away from home for work, so I mainly cook for myself. I make breakfast almost every morning—this morning, it was wakame rice.
I love cooking rice in Nagatani-en’s “Kamado-san.” I cook three cups every morning and eat it with Shi-chan. I also make two bento lunches with the leftovers.
