Aren’t the membership requirements for the new club set far too low?

Let me answer as the naive, sheltered Mamiya. I wouldn’t want certain billionaire members from the current club joining the new one. The questionnaires they submit are vulgar, they look down on women, and they make their pathetic character painfully clear. Don’t underestimate the women at our club. When someone speaks the way you do, I wouldn’t even want to have tea with them for five minutes. This is for everyone’s sake. In this day and age, I don’t think it’s right to take money, put up with someone, and provide a service. Any man who can’t make a woman happy is trash. If he’s a genuinely good man, a good woman would give herself to him—whether it’s unprotected or without an allowance. I’d love to introduce you to a truly wonderful man—someone so amazing he’d make even me want to cause a scandal. So, if it were up to me, I’d add more character-related criteria to the membership requirements. Would it really be so presumptuous to say that my ideal is a relationship where we can speak openly and honestly as equals? If I get wet, you win.

Maezawa here. Thank you for your suggestion regarding the new club. It’s a world I know very little about, so I honestly have no idea what things would be like at that level. That said, the suggestions posted here are always valuable reference points, so I appreciate them. Personally, I do wonder whether that might be taking things a bit too far. But as you said, wealthy people don’t like being lumped together with those below them in terms of income. It does make me wonder where the line should be drawn. At this stage, the standard is an annual income of ¥40 million, or, if that requirement isn’t met, a standard based on the value of one’s assets. That said, I expect there will still be people who are turned down during the screening process, even if they meet the requirements. As for membership numbers, they’ll probably be assigned in order of enrollment. But would people with higher grades get lower numbers? If someone who made that suggestion ended up with number 30, wouldn’t they say, “Why am I not number one?” Even if they said, “My income must be the highest,” appearance and personality are also part of the screening criteria, so they could still end up with number 30. That could easily lead to unnecessary trouble, so I think it may be better not to create a ranking system. Still, having a lower membership number means you joined earlier, so I suppose you can enjoy feeling like a senior member.
