Maezawa from the president’s office will answer this as well. Some men may cut things off, but even then, I’d like them to show the sincerity to properly tell the other person. If a man still cuts things off despite being met with sincerity, then he was only ever that kind of person.

I’m Fuu, a column writer. As I wrote in one of my columns, there was a girl who told me her boyfriend had contracted an STI. My first thought was, “Thank you for telling me.” She could get tested right away, after all. We’re still seeing each other, more than three years later.

I’m Dai, a male member. I appreciate that you told me honestly rather than keeping quiet and avoiding me. That said, I make it clear beforehand that I don’t want to be with women who are okay with unprotected sex. So if it’s an STI whose transmission risk increases through unprotected sex, I’d probably choose not to continue seeing her afterward. I’m grateful for your honesty, but I’m sorry—that’s where I have to draw the line.

I’m a male member and pretty much a loser. There was a girl who came forward and told me she had an STI, so I actually increased her allowance. She had told me I was her only papa (a male supporter). I respected the courage it took to be honest, knowing she might get cut off. Having multiple papas is normal anyway, and I’m seeing more than ten women myself, haha. Ever since then, she’s been telling me “I love you” during our intimate moments. I’m sure it’s “business love,” but I’m holding on to the tiniest bit of hope that maybe it means something more, lol. At her request, we had been seeing each other without protection, so I contacted all the women I was seeing and gave each of them money equivalent to two adult-relationship encounters to cover testing costs and as an apology. It was also compensation for the time they couldn’t see their other papas. In the end, I got several tests at different medical facilities, and they all came back negative. I hadn’t passed anything on to anyone, and none of the women I was seeing cut me off either. That said, I stopped having unprotected sex after that...

I’m Kazu, a male member. I tell the women I’m seeing regularly, “I won’t end things just because you’ve caught an STI, so please be honest with me if you find out that you have one.” In fact, two women have each told me once that they had chlamydia, and I didn’t cut either of them off. Of course, whenever someone tells me, I immediately go get tested myself as well.

I’m Shingo Lee (Shingori), a columnist. I don’t cut someone off right away, but if I hear them out and their precautions seem inadequate, I’ll end things. There are many different kinds of STIs, after all.
