Wouldn’t it be better to register women as Platinum by default, then promote them to Black if offers start pouring in? There are far too many Black profiles right now that make me scratch my head.

Maezawa here. I think promoting someone to Black when they start receiving a flood of offers is a good idea. But the problem is when someone who should originally be Black is registered as Platinum, causing offers to pour in. Why is that bad? When women are inundated with offers, they often end up quitting. In the worst case, after only about the third offer, they might simply leave a message saying, “I can’t make it today after all,” and then disappear without responding. That’s why I think it’s better for the staff to register someone as Black if they believe she can handle it at that level, and lower her to Platinum if they got it wrong—meaning she doesn’t receive a single offer. If there are many women who make you scratch your head as to why they’re ranked Black, they probably won’t receive any offers and will naturally be moved down to Platinum.
