I think it’s probably because you seem to know exactly when to say something.
They’re not annoyed when you say it at that particular moment, but they’re left thinking, “How did they know that was the right time? They’re amazing. Are they a professional?”
In that sense, it’s also a compliment, so I don’t think you need to worry about it.
That said, if the other person feels that way, you still have room to grow. Keep working on yourself so you can always pick the perfect moment without making them consciously wonder about it.
Ideally, you want them to get to the point where they simply think, “I don’t really know why, but I just like them.”

> Lately, the papas I meet have been telling me, “You’re a pro at papa-katsu—you really know how to handle men.” What do they mean by that?
I think that comment can have two meanings.
First, it may mean that you’re able to have a smooth relationship that meets what men want, and that you’re both enjoying your time together. In other words, they’re satisfied with the relationship.
On the other hand, they may also be thinking, “This is almost too smooth” or “She’s really experienced.”(笑)

I think you should take it as a compliment. Being good at asking for things isn’t the only sign of professionalism.

Since he’s complimenting you, it doesn’t seem like anything to worry about.
I’d be more put off if she started asking for things or demanding gifts. I imagine she has something that makes her papa—or men in general—happy without making any strange demands.
