There’s no foolproof way to prevent someone you know from seeing your profile.
For example, during the membership interview, someone may ask, “If a person whose real name is Taro Tanaka is registered, could you let me know?” We can’t explicitly tell them whether that person is a member, but if there are any members who fit the description of someone they would want to avoid crossing paths with, we can tell them how many there are and leave the decision up to the woman.
This may sound a little blunt, but even if you were a celebrity, it would be rare for someone to notice your registration. Our members aren’t the kind of people who would make a fuss just because an aspiring actress or idol joined.
So even when the woman is a celebrity or well-known, that’s usually how it goes. The chances of an ordinary woman registering and someone thinking, “Oh! I know her!” are extremely low.
The people who need to be more careful are those whose social circle consists mostly of small- and medium-sized business owners. For example, if you’re the manager of an upscale hostess club or work at a luxury lounge, there may be a greater chance that someone you know will see you.
But try Googling papa-katsu right now and opening one of the dating sites that comes up. You can register in 30 seconds using a free email address and browse the faces of around 1,000 women involved in papa-katsu from all over Japan.
I sometimes look around thinking, “I wonder if I know anyone,” but I’ve never found anyone.
And I’m saying that as someone who runs a papa-katsu club and has interviewed more than 2,000 people.
It’s perfectly natural to feel anxious, but if you’re hoping to meet a billionaire through papa-katsu, doesn’t that require taking at least a little risk and adventure?
If someone you know does see you, you could confidently say something like:
“It looks like someone has been using my photo without permission. I was actually thinking of consulting the police about it. By the way, President, how did you know about this? Don’t tell me you paid to join a dating club? Even though you have a wife? I’m going to the police now—would you mind coming with me? I’m feeling a little nervous.”
If you said something like that with confidence, the other person would probably be the one to panic.
