Many women aren’t comfortable meeting in busy downtown entertainment districts. Where do people usually meet for a first meeting?

I’m Fuu, a column writer. Depending on the person, I specifically exclude certain schools and workplaces for female members, so please leave those out. For the first meeting, I meet at a restaurant. Since we’ll be discussing the allowance, a private or semi-private room is required. From the second meeting onward, I adjust to the other person. If she’s concerned about being seen, we continue meeting at the restaurant and use a private room. If she doesn’t mind being seen, we meet at the station and don’t insist on a private room for dinner—basically, I accommodate her preferences.

You probably don’t like not knowing who might see you. Choose somewhere women don’t usually go and where your friends are less likely to spot you. Akari

I’m Aya, a female member. For first dates, I feel like we usually go to slightly upscale restaurants with private rooms or spacious seating. Once we get to know each other better, we often decide on the restaurant together.

I’m Kazu, a male member. I’ve never come across a girl who ruled out every downtown entertainment district, but if she really does, I think you should ask her what location she prefers when making the offer.

I’ll answer as Maezawa from the CEO’s office. For the first meeting, I think it’s a good idea to reserve a private room at a restaurant or somewhere similar. You could also arrange to meet inside the restaurant. Something like: “I’ve made a reservation under [name], so please wait for me inside.” How does that sound?
