I’m a male member. When deciding whether to make an offer, I consider how motivated a woman seems to be about continuing her activities. Things like updated comments are easy to notice, but I also use factors such as whether she has had new photos taken when her profile is updated.

I’m Meg, a female member. I’m currently hidden from public view. I registered about a year and a half ago, and as it happens, I had new photos taken today. The club had only contacted me once before then to confirm whether I wanted to continue. I had my dating type changed from D to A, and even though I’m hidden, I’m extremely motivated!!! Even though it’s called a six-month confirmation, we wouldn’t ask a woman who receives offers almost every month, “It’s been six months—would you like to continue?” That would be rather pointless. She responds whenever she receives an offer, so if we’ve just been coordinating schedules with her—even as recently as a week ago—it’s obvious that she intends to continue. If we asked anyway, she might even wonder, “Do you want me to quit?” That’s why the confirmation is omitted, and no note is added saying that continued participation has been confirmed. > 2. They haven’t been able to confirm because they can’t get in touch, but she hasn’t withdrawn, so her profile remains listed. When we can no longer reach someone, we hide their profile. After a certain period, the system automatically processes the withdrawal. > 3. Continued participation has been confirmed, but for some reason the woman requests that her profile not be listed. I’ve never heard of anyone making such a request. I don’t understand what the point would be. > I get the impression that women whose profiles say their continued participation was recently confirmed may be more motivated to stay active. I’m Kazu, a male member. Somehow, I feel that points 1 and 2 seem similar, but aren’t quite the same. In short, I think it’s probably handled as Marika-san said—on a case-by-case basis. You can’t really tell someone’s level of motivation from their profile. If anything, people who regularly update their comments, private photos, and calendars are probably more motivated. As for members who can’t be reached and whose continued membership can’t be confirmed, whether they’re hidden probably depends on the staff. Recently, I deleted one woman from my list after making an offer and getting no reply. That’s true. I’m sorry for saying it was handled casually. I happened to see several women whose profiles were still up even though they seemed to be unreachable, so I ended up becoming suspicious.

Well, when it comes to that kind of thing at Universe, you should probably assume they’re pretty casual about it. I was told they checked in every six months to confirm whether I wanted to continue, but my first check-in didn’t come until my 11th month. Then, about eight months later, I asked them to take new photos myself, partly because I’d cut my hair quite a bit. Also, people who regularly receive offers and are already in contact with someone don’t even get asked to confirm whether they want to continue. That seems to have been why I wasn’t contacted until my 11th month, too. And whether they update the profile comments probably depends on the staff member. I rarely update my comments, but I’m active and highly motivated. On the other hand, some women may not be very motivated, but keep their profiles listed because it’s free for them. So, my feeling is that the presence or absence of a continuation check isn’t really something you can use as a reference.
