Do people usually use love hotels?

Since I’m also sensitive to the word “hotel,” I’ll answer this one. To begin with, we generally have very little information about what kind of date course our members followed. We only ask for details when there’s been a problem or a complaint. So, basically, my answer is: “How should I know?” But I’ll answer based on what I do know. As Mamiya, the hotel enthusiast, also says, we rarely hear women complain, “It was a love hotel. The worst.” Many women are practical too, and love hotels often have spacious baths, an abundance of amenities, and rooms designed to make things convenient when you’re there to do what you came to do. They have plenty of good points. If I were inviting a woman, I’d probably suggest a love hotel—because some of them have things like swings, pools, and gondolas, which seem like they’d be fun. That said, for people who want to project a certain level of sophistication, there can be various concerns. According to what I’ve heard from members, city hotels sometimes offer day-use plans. One technique is to tell the front desk before checking in, then have them bring your room key while you’re dining at the hotel restaurant and charge the meal to your room. Apparently, joining some kind of exclusive membership program can also get you a room at a considerable discount. The idea is that “It would be a shame to ruin the date just to save 20,000–30,000 yen on the hotel.” So, in conclusion, my interpretation is that either option is fine as long as the hotel: - Can be reserved if possible - Doesn’t charge a cancellation fee - Makes the transition after dinner smooth - Is clean

I’m often asked about this by male members as well, but my impression is that far fewer women dislike love hotels than men might think. These days, many are clean, with well-stocked amenities and attentive services, so I rarely hear women say they were disappointed by one. That said, I’d rather avoid walking around a love-hotel district together. I’d worry about being seen, and holding hands or acting affectionate there would be difficult. Some people who come in from out of town for business trips, for example, use business hotels instead. Even when they aren’t upscale, I appreciate that many men are considerate toward the women they’re meeting.
