Maezawa from the President’s Office here—I’ll answer this one too.
I think this is actually pretty common.
Even if you turn her down on the spot, it apparently turns into, “You came all the way to the meeting place, so isn’t it strange to refuse to go to a hotel?”
The reason this happens is that an agency is communicating with the men. Someone from the agency handles all the back-and-forth and manages to arrange the meeting.
Once the details are settled, the woman who has been waiting goes to the designated location.
At that point, for example, if they’ve agreed on an allowance of ¥30,000, the agency takes half—¥15,000.
If the man leaves after she has gone all the way to the meeting place, it seems the woman still has to pay that ¥15,000 to the agency.
That’s why the women are desperate, too. If the man leaves after meeting her, she takes a huge loss.
So I think it’s fairly common for a desperate woman to grab onto a man’s clothes.
And since it’s an agency, they have lots of accounts, each featuring photos of different beautiful or cute women. But if there are only a few women actually registered with the agency, then no matter which woman you arrange to meet, the same woman ends up showing up.

I’m Flag Maker, a column writer.
The “that” in my column was either a shady compensated-dating operator lurking on the app or a genuinely dangerous woman. Sakura’s story was probably about an app too.
The story itself is true. I was actually cornered by “her” at a crowded intersection in Ikebukuro, and she tore my suit.
That’s why I got scared of apps and fled to a club.
Just thinking about it still genuinely terrifies me. I can still picture those filthy feet.
Oh, right—the part at the end where I have a mental breakdown in a psychiatric ward is fiction.

At first I thought this was a new column by Flag Maker, but it turns out it’s this one from a while back:

I don’t think someone like that is showing up at the club. He’d probably be rejected at the interview. That was actually one of the things I was hoping for when I joined a dating club.
Anyone who’s spent time on dating sites has probably had their own frightening experiences, to varying degrees.
