I probably wouldn’t reply if they just messaged me normally. But if they apologized, humbled themselves, or—oh, offered to reduce their allowance（笑）—then I’d probably respond.

Given the situation, I get the feeling you probably won’t hear back. Still, why not think about what might have gone wrong and whether anything comes to mind?
If you can identify the cause, apologizing for it or taking back what you said might—just barely—give you a chance of restoring things to how they were…
That said, as they say, spilled water won’t return to the tray, so I think it may be difficult.
