Everyone sees things differently. If you’d rather be with someone who doesn’t restrict you, even if the allowance is smaller, then you should date that kind of person. If receiving a larger allowance is more important to you, you may find that you can put up with the restrictions.

That distinctly old-school taste made me dizzy with nostalgia. I feel embarrassed just hearing about it.
Still, I imagine you could get a decent price for a Love bracelet if you sold it after the relationship ended. How much you’re willing to put up with for the money really depends on the asker’s circumstances and values.
Personally, I’d find yellow gold embarrassing, so I’d at least want it in white gold. It would be nice if it had diamonds, too.
