Are men asked whether they have tattoos when they register? If I receive an offer from someone with tattoos, I’d be scared, so could you let me know beforehand? Women having tattoos is one thing, but tattoos on men are honestly terrifying.

Maezawa from the President’s Office here as well. What? Is that really true? As you said, it’s frightening to hear that there’s a man with tattoos. Please be sure to send us feedback. If you’re afraid of him, you can submit the report without allowing us to verify it with him. Without being able to confirm it, it becomes difficult to warn other women. Even so, our staff will start to suspect that this may be the man in question. That said, while women may sometimes get tattoos as a fashion choice, considering his age, I can’t imagine a man like that being anything other than affiliated with an antisocial group—or possibly formerly affiliated with one. If he didn’t show up in the antisocial forces database we pay a lot of money to use, I’m not sure whether the database can’t be trusted or whether his information had been removed because he’s no longer involved. It seems we should run another check. Please send us your feedback. To avoid getting into serious trouble later, I think you should end things with him as soon as possible.

Universe Club’s Mamiya here. It seems some men prefer to avoid women with tattoos, so we do ask about that during interviews. However, we haven’t been checking whether male members have tattoos. That said, these days some people get tattoos casually as a form of fashion, perhaps inspired by overseas celebrities, so I don’t think you can automatically assume they’re intimidating. I’m not a fan of tattoos either, but I once fell for a man who had the character “誠” tattooed on him. I was startled at first, but he looked really cool… So you never know!

I’m Taro, a male member. Are even Western-style tattoos intimidating—not just the full-back tattoos you often see with yakuza? Come to think of it, are there any older male members who have tattoos? If it bothers you, you could do as Kazu suggests and mention it in the comments, or ask the staff to note it in your profile.

I’m Kazu, a male member. Yes, I imagine they’d be surprised. I don’t recall ever being asked whether I have any tattoos. How about adding a note to your profile comments saying, “If you have tattoos, please let me know when you make an offer”?
