Wouldn’t it be fun to hold a gathering for women who do papa-katsu (compensated dating in Japan)? It would be even better if some ladies in their 40s or older could organize it. There are so many things about papa-katsu that I can’t even discuss with my friends, so I feel like it would make papa-katsu more enjoyable if we could talk about our concerns and exchange information at a gathering like this.

So many incredible questions... lol Since I’ll be paying, shall we do it? Mamiya, are you really going through with this? Let’s open champagne and plenty of high-end wine. Sounds good. I’ve done this many times before, and it’s pretty entertaining to have the female members share their “papa-katsu annual income” during their introductions. If you hold the event normally, everyone stays guarded, and the party only really gets lively right when it’s time to leave. A papa-katsu drinking party takes some technique. lol There will be absolutely no adult relationships afterward, either. I want it to be 100% off the table. ← This is what causes problems. Everyone must leave at the same time—no exceptions. lol The female members will be limited to those who are talkative and have plenty of stories to share.

I’m Maezawa from the President’s Office, and I’ll answer this one too. This isn’t exactly a suggestion box, though… (lol) Instead of asking, “What do you think?”— if you said, “I’d like to host this myself. Can I recruit people through the question box?” or, “I’ve reserved a restaurant somewhere for [date]. Please come,” and consulted me about it in advance, something like that, I might approve it depending on the details and feature it even though it isn’t technically a question. But if all you say is, “It would be fun if someone else organized it for us,” I feel like that would be difficult. That said, last year or so, someone named Saito did reply here, saying, “I’ll pay for it myself, so why not do it?” I wonder where Saito has gone now. (lol)

Universe Club Customer Success representative Karasaki here. I think it’s an interesting idea! However, if it were for women only, they would likely have to pay the participation fee to cover the venue and other costs, so I’m not sure how many people would actually join. With COVID still a concern, simply gathering people together carries risks these days. That said, creating new opportunities for people to connect is a great idea, and we’d like to explore ways to provide a space that’s useful to our members.
