About STIs
Looking through the question box, I see that there are quite a few women who have several papa (male supporters), as well as papas who enjoy meeting different women on a pay-per-meeting basis. Don’t you worry about STIs or other illnesses?
Have you ever actually contracted one, or heard of anyone who has? Are they not that common?
If I were seeing multiple papas, I can’t help worrying that I might pass something on to someone else through myself and feel terrible about it.

Since it’s a matter of probability, I can’t say it will never happen, nor can I say it definitely will.
For example, even if you weren’t doing papa-katsu (compensated dating in Japan) and your boyfriend wasn’t either, either of you could still contract an STI. Sometimes it can happen simply because someone happened to sleep with another person once.
Also, even if someone only does papa-katsu with one partner, they may have met several people before finding that person, so there is still a possibility of contracting something.
If you’re worried, I think it’s better not to do anything.
That said, in reality, only a small number of people contract an STI. Since nobody wants that to happen, you can reduce the risk by taking basic precautions, such as always using protection.
As for the possibility of passing something on to someone else, regularly getting the Partners Check recommended by Universe—costing around ¥10,000 and available even at home—should also help reduce that risk.

I do take precautions. I used to frequent nightlife venues, and later relied on adult entertainment services and dating sites. So even when I have no symptoms, I get tested regularly about four times a year.
I’ve been with this dating club for about nine months and have made more than 50 offers. I think I’ve had my share of fun, but I’ve never caught anything in my entire life.
There was only one time when a woman who had had an adult relationship through the club told me she had contracted an STI. She informed me because she thought she might have passed it on to me, so I immediately got tested. I took a break from seeing anyone for about a week until the results came back, but I was negative then as well.
That said, I’ve also heard partners say things like, “I used to be sexually active with a lot of guys in college, and before I knew it, I’d caught an STI.”
So I really don’t think anyone should ever let their guard down.
