I’m a married male member. I couldn’t tell from her profile, but she turned out to be married too. She said her marriage was happy and there were no problems, so why was she using the club? She did mention that there was no intimacy at all. Thinking about the future, we ended things after dinner only and didn’t exchange email addresses or LINE. My question is: Is it common for things to turn into trouble when you enter into an adult relationship (intimate) with a married woman?

Maezawa from the President’s Office here, answering as well. Thank you for your question. > Why UC? I think you answered that yourself afterward: “She said they had no intimacy at all.” I believe that’s why she came to register with UC. Apparently, quite a few married couples are in sexless marriages, and some women are dissatisfied with that even though their marriages are otherwise happy. Conversely, when a man’s wife no longer wants intimacy, he may come to register—or visit a brothel—thinking, “Our marriage is good, but…” She came because she wanted to enjoy intimacy and receive an allowance, so it’s unfortunate. If you were compatible, I think you could have had a good relationship. Of course, there are risks. If her husband investigates and discovers the affair, he may demand compensation. However, if you genuinely didn’t know she was married, you may not necessarily be liable even if he makes a claim. For example, if you have an exchange like this as evidence: “You’re not currently married or someone’s wife, are you?” “No, I’m not married, and I’m not a wife.” Then, even if you’re sued, you may be able to avoid paying compensation by showing that you didn’t know. What you do is entirely up to you. If you’re worried, the safest option is to do nothing. But if you feel there could be a meaningful relationship there, you’re free to pursue it.

You’re a married man yourself, and many of the male members are married—often happily so—so I find it strange that you’re puzzled only when the situation is reversed. I’ve never had any trouble from being in an adult relationship (intimate) with a married man. Doesn’t that concern you? Marika
