If he’s the type to keep his promises, I think it would be best to wait without saying anything for now.
That said, he may be deciding between a bag and an accessory. So it might be worth choosing one yourself and telling him something like:
“I mentioned before that I was deciding between a bag and an accessory, but after what happened, I’m starting to lean more toward wanting the bag.”
Something along those lines might work.

If he’s someone who keeps his promises, I think it’s best to simply wait for the right moment—the longer you wait, the nicer the gift you’ll receive.
It might also be wise to ask for something you genuinely wanted in the first place, rather than getting too greedy.
Men may feel excited in the moment about giving an expensive gift, but once they’ve calmed down and think about it rationally, they tend to find girls who are happy with a bag that costs enough to buy several of the same bag much cuter.
