My papa (a male supporter) rents an apartment for me, and I live there. I see him every day. How would other men view this if I told them? If I met someone else who would provide me with an apartment in the same way, I’m thinking of moving in with him instead…

I’m Taro, a male member. For years, I’ve wondered what hermit crabs feel when they do that, but your question somehow gave me the answer. Thank you. All men are secretly searching for their ideal hermit crab, so I’m sure they’ll think the same way I do. A truly generous papa would probably give you a little shell whistle, like a tiny hermit crab’s shell, and say, “Blow it if it feels good.” My sincerest apologies.

Maezawa from the CEO’s Office will answer this as well. Thank you for your question. I think we’ve seen many posts in the Q&A box about men who want a woman to be exclusive to them. Even if a man doesn’t say it outright, he may not mind simply hearing that you have another papa. But if you talk about being financially supported by a papa, some men may think, “Even so, you’re still looking for other men?” The line between the two may be difficult to judge, but it’s probably best not to mention that someone is renting an apartment for you. If you’re looking for someone better, I think it would be wiser not to talk about your current situation and simply say something like, “I wonder if there’s someone who could give me around ¥___ a month and let me live somewhere nice.” That said, even saying it that way could put someone off if you say it to the wrong person, so I think you should be very careful how you bring it up.

So, are you saying you don’t like your current papa (a male supporter) at all and are only staying at the apartment because you’re putting up with it? For now, why not rent even a run-down apartment on your own and leave your papa’s place first? You can find apartments in the ¥20,000 range just a 30-minute train ride from central Tokyo. Places in Chiba or Saitama have pretty good access to transportation too. Marika

I’m in Seattle. If you meet an exceptionally wonderful man, why not go for it? You mean you’d rather have one deeply involved papa (a male supporter)—almost like living together—than casually see lots of people, right? Wait until you’ve grown to like the new person to some extent before saying, “Come sweep me away~”

I’m Kazu, a male member. > My papa rents an apartment for me, and I live there. I see him every day. If I heard that from someone I’d made an offer to, I’d probably wonder whether having a papa she sees every day still isn’t enough for her. I’ve also heard that many men want the woman they’re seeing to date only them, so this probably wouldn’t go over well with those kinds of men. > If I met someone else who was willing to provide me with an apartment in the same way, I’d like to move in with him… I thought she sounded rather cold—like a woman who wouldn’t be worth developing a deeper relationship with.
