Maezawa from the President’s Office will answer this as well. Thank you for your question. Yes, women do sometimes decline. Women are most afraid of being identified. So, for example, some won’t meet a man if he works in the same industry. If the profession a man lists happens to be the same as theirs, they’ll decline. This is probably the most common reason. That said, only a few percent of women refuse offers based on profession, so the chances of making an offer to one of them are probably fairly low. Incidentally, if we told them the real reason in such cases, it would defeat the purpose, so we don’t explain why. If they press for an explanation, some other reason will probably be given. Another possibility is when a man has received negative feedback in the past, but there isn’t enough certainty to say for sure. For example, information might be added saying: “This man is suspected of taking covert photos. Whether you accept his offer is up to you.” Women who feel confident they can see through that kind of person may accept the offer anyway, while more cautious women will pass. That can also result in a rejection. A man may also be turned down because of something written in his profile. Some men write things that make it seem like they won’t provide an allowance, so in those cases, declining is the right choice. (笑) Conversely, some women decline men whose profiles aren’t public. It’s understandable that a man who can’t write anything about himself might seem suspicious. (笑) P.S. I haven’t heard of many cases where a woman declined someone because of his height, but perhaps she was a tall woman herself. At first, she may say, “I’m taller than you—is that okay?” Even if he says he doesn’t mind, she may have been hurt by comments about her height in the past, and eventually decide she’d rather not proceed. It can be pretty complicated.

I’m in Seattle. Some women who had been registered for quite a while turned me down. Maybe their motivation had faded. I was also turned down by a newcomer listed as Type A. She had come along with a friend, so maybe she realized she really didn’t like older men after all.

I’m Kazu, a male member. Yes, it has happened. Once, for reasons I don’t know, my offer was turned down.
