I’m a male member. Most women’s profiles ask, “Are you an S or an M?” What exactly is the intention behind this question? I’m not really sure how to make use of this information. I’d like to meet someone who’s genuinely a masochist, but it doesn’t seem to mean that.

Maezawa from the President’s Office here. Thank you for your question. You’d have to ask the person who created this option to know its true intent, but I personally think it’s a good one to have. It’s similar to the question about relationship type, but it gives you a glimpse into how a woman thinks, so I consider it a good question. S or M… Most ordinary women have never really thought about that, so they usually hesitate. Though perhaps they already know and are only pretending to be unsure. In that sense, it’s similar to choosing a relationship type. Some women will answer very directly, saying, “I’m definitely an M,” for example. Or they might say, “I look like an M, don’t I? But I’m actually an S.” Others might say, “I can handle either S or M.” Well, this isn’t work, so it’s not really about “handling” anything… Some male members are looking for an S-type woman. However, I don’t think they’re looking for a true S—in that case, they’d probably go to an S&M-specific club. Rather, I think they want to find an ordinary woman with S tendencies and help her develop into an S-type woman. Likewise, men looking for an M-type woman may also want to help her develop in that direction. What some men are looking for at a dating club isn’t a woman who is already fully polished and doing this professionally, but rather a rough diamond—someone who could shine with a little polishing. Where that potential lies differs from person to person, but I think whether someone is S or M may be one part of it. That said, even women who say they’re S often aren’t actually very S at all. Ideally, it would be more useful to know the detailed circumstances behind why they chose that option in the first place. But perhaps we haven’t reached that level yet.

This is Nagato from the Tokyo staff. Honestly, I feel this is a section that doesn’t really need to be asked about during the interview, but I confirm it every time anyway. Also, I think there may be some differences among staff in whether they’re referring to someone’s “daytime” personality or their “nighttime” personality. I make sure to confirm it based on their “daytime” personality.

I’m Kazu, a male member. I think it basically means whether you prefer taking the lead or being more passive, but am I the only one who doesn’t like people who lean too heavily one way or the other? I prefer someone who’s well-rounded.

I’m “Paper Airplane,” a male member. This probably isn’t very reliable, but every now and then I meet an S-type girl who loves to keep me on my toes. When I do, I actually enjoy being led around by her.

I’m Taro, a male member. That question is kind of awkward, isn’t it? lol Basically, I think it’s asking whether you prefer to take the lead or be on the receiving end. In other words, whether you’re happy just letting things happen and moaning until it’s over, or whether you want to switch roles partway through—or even take the initiative from the start and focus on pleasing the man. That’s why you sometimes see women answer, “I’m basically submissive, but I can be dominant too.” I think the idea is, “I’m usually passive, but if that’s what the man wants, I’m happy to try all sorts of things♡” There are occasionally women who are genuinely very submissive. They may mention it themselves or have it noted in their club profile. If that’s what you’re looking for, try searching with the appropriate keywords. Asking the club staff for advice might also help.
