I wasn’t entirely blameless either, but there was an incident that left me troubled—or rather, feeling like I had done something I shouldn’t have. She was around 25. I wrote about the details in a column.

Thanks for your question.
It may seem plausible at first glance, but I haven’t really heard of many cases like that. If anything, I think it’s more common for a man to become obsessed with a woman.
I remember a police officer once saying something like:
“Men often become stalkers, which is a real problem. A man’s social status has nothing to do with it.”
That really stuck with me. It made me wonder whether there are actually quite a few cases where someone in a position of authority becomes a stalker.

No, I don’t think so.
I feel that, especially among women in their 30s and older, there aren’t many who lose all sense of judgment and become deeply invested in someone they’re seeing in an allowance-based relationship.
Women around 30 sometimes tell me things like, “I’m starting to think I should get married soon,” or “Men are just naturally unfaithful, so I’ve lost any desire to get married.” But I just let those comments go in one ear and out the other.
If anything, I think men are more likely to become deeply invested in their partners.
