Whenever I see the name Mac-san, I start craving McDonald’s. I’d love to hear about Mac-san’s—and everyone else’s—approach to food. Many successful people seem to have slightly different eating habits. I believe that nutrition and the way we eat affect not only our bodies but also our minds, helping us stay youthful and active. I would greatly appreciate your advice.

Maezawa from the CEO’s office will answer as well. Thanks for your question. Apparently, people in Kansai shorten McDonald’s to “Makkudo,” while people in Kanto say “Makku,” so you must live somewhere east of Japan. You’re probably wondering, “So what?” But anyway…

I’m Taro, a male member. You’re very good at subtly flattering the person answering by making them out to be successful. I’m extremely particular about my diet. I basically never eat junk food, and I pay attention to when and how much I eat. I’m always thinking about finding the best balance—not just with food, but also with exercise, sleep, and having fun. I could go on forever, so I’ll leave it at that for now(笑).

I’m Kazu, a male member. I’m not particularly picky, so in my everyday life I tend to choose meals that are quick and easy. But eating nothing but that kind of convenient food gradually starts to wear me down. When I’m eating with someone, I feel that taking my time over a meal is worthwhile, and it makes me want to go to nice restaurants. As a result, for nearly the past year, I’ve almost exclusively gone out for good food with women.

I’m in Seattle. I keep my height minus my weight at 105 or less. I weigh myself every day, and if I gain weight, I go on a diet—basically, I just don’t eat. Also, should I eat more of everything except carbohydrates?
