The other day, I saw a Yahoo News article titled, “You had another ‘family’?! A letter on a cat’s collar reveals its ‘double life.’” So I tried something similar—not a letter on a girl’s collar, but I had a girl who was going on a date with another man soon carry a letter for him. She was the one who got her first time taken by him before I could, so I bought a box of Kinoko no Yama mushroom-shaped chocolate snacks at a convenience store, wrote “Too bad you beat me to it! Please let me call you big brother” on it with a marker, and had her take it to him. Apparently, the other guy appreciated the joke, and he happily sent her back with a letter attached to a Black Thunder chocolate bar. Now I’m looking forward to seeing the girl again even more. I doubt many people would come up with—or actually carry out—something like this, but if you think of the girl as a cat living a double life, she seems kind of adorable, and the two men even feel a little more familiar with each other. So I thought it might actually be a pretty good idea. It would be fun to give a girl who has lots of papas a notebook and have everyone write whatever they like in it. Anyway, here’s my question. I came up with this idea on short notice, so I just bought Kinoko no Yama at the convenience store. Are there any other snacks or anything else you’d recommend as a witty little greeting gift? I’d like to try it with another girl, so I’d appreciate your suggestions.
