Some of you may simply get lucky and meet a generous (well-paying) papa (a male supporter). There are even some minor TV idols who reportedly receive around 1 million yen. As for my preferred profession, nurses are nice. Since they work shifts, it’s easier to coordinate schedules, even when going somewhere farther away.

Even if I casually ask, “Could it be about the allowance?” the man is completely confident: “No way. She seemed happy, and she never said the allowance was too low. She even said she wanted to meet again. I wonder what happened?” The women who don’t even agree to that one meeting may simply go home that day for some other reason, and then the man starts claiming it was a dating-type scam. No, no—that’s not it. Though I only know this because I happened to be in a position to hear both sides of the story. Oh, as for the actual question（笑） I think most people don’t have a preferred occupation. P.S. My impression is that CAs receive around ten offers in the month they join, though of course it also depends on their appearance.

I’m Basil, a male member. When I was younger, I naturally pursued women without offering any allowance. Obviously, in this world, you can’t expect things to work without an allowance, but when I can take things further with a flight attendant or another woman generally considered high-spec for what’s considered a standard amount—around ¥50,000—it gives me a sense of fulfillment, reminding me that I used to be able to win women over the old-fashioned way. Whether it lasts long-term is another matter, though. Maybe this is also part of why some men keep the allowance low even when they have plenty of room in their budget. They do tend to ask for a high amount, but Japanese airline flight attendants are generally excellent at etiquette and interpersonal skills because of their work, so I don’t find spending time with them unpleasant. If I were looking for something long-term, though, I’d probably choose an office worker at a reasonably good company whose lifestyle and values were fairly similar to mine.

I’ve heard of 100,000 yen several times, and although I’ve never actually met one myself, I’m sure there are people who offer 200,000 or even 300,000 yen. What I was denying was that 200,000 yen is the norm. You even wrote that you knew it wasn’t normal. I don’t recall ever saying that there are no men who give a high allowance. I don’t think the other respondents denied that either. So I don’t think there’s any argument over whether generous allowances exist. If your point is that arguing about the going rate is pointless, I agree. As both I and others have said repeatedly, I don’t think there is any fixed market rate. It seems that how much you open up to a papa (a male supporter) depends on the size of the allowance. In that case, I find it interesting that even though you have a papa who gives you 300,000 yen, you continue seeing the papa who gives you only 100,000 yen. Why do you meet someone who not only gives you a small allowance, but also isn’t someone you can feel comfortable with? Generally speaking, not limited to flight attendants, a woman is considered popular if she receives five offers. I hear they’re also refraining from holding girls’ nights out, and their take-home income from flight and layover allowances has dropped dramatically. Since they’re flight attendants, I think even a conservative estimate would be that they accept three papa-katsu dates a month, which would put the number at 23. If there are 23 of them, it’s quite interesting that two of them happen to be enthusiastically discussing allowance amounts in an anonymous question box. I’ll refrain from commenting on my preferred professions.
