The question comes across as somewhat insulting. I wondered whether the person asking had something unpleasant happen to them and just wanted to vent here.
That said, I think it’s precisely when you’re not in a position to talk about your dreams that talking about them can be meaningful.
Leiji Matsumoto once said:
“Galaxy Express 999 is an endless dream for me. As long as 999 exists, I’ll continue riding along the rails of my youth.”
So it seems he still holds on to his dreams even today.

I believe that when it comes to dreams, the people who have them and talk about them are the ones who win.
Everyone has their own opinions, of course, but I feel that people can’t become—or obtain—anything beyond what they imagine for themselves.
I’m drawn to people who can talk seriously about their dreams, and even if we have nothing in common, I think I can still relate to them ♪( ´▽｀)
No matter what the dream is, the moment you think, “That’s ridiculous,” you’ve already woken up from it.

I imagine that during interviews, most of our staff ask questions like, “Do you have any dreams or goals?” Some people say they want to start a business or travel abroad, while others give more practical answers, such as paying off their student loans or covering their living expenses.
Having dreams is wonderful, but I personally think there’s nothing more admirable than trying to improve your current situation through your own efforts.
Even though I’m a staff member, hearing stories like this only makes me reflect on how lazy I’ve been.
Whether it’s something major or something small, I believe it can still be considered a dream—and I think that’s wonderful, regardless of one’s circumstances.

In the papa-katsu (compensated dating in Japan) scene, I find girls who talk about their dreams intimidating because I can sense the money behind it, so I can’t bring myself to make them an offer. That may be part of it, but I’ve never actually met a woman I’ve encountered so far who talks about a genuinely ambitious dream.
Then again, maybe they’ve simply seen through my inadequacy as a sponsor.

I can see where the questioner is coming from, at least to some extent. Motivating people with the word “dream” does evoke something like a pyramid scheme.
But isn’t that because you’re treating “dreams” as something grand? I think “My dream is to survive and make it through these difficult times” is a perfectly valid dream too.
Still, it does retain that pyramid-scheme vibe...
That said, I thought the final sentence was unnecessary. Putting other people down isn’t right. It gives off the impression of someone unhappy who’s trying to protect themselves by belittling others. Even if you do that, you’re only lowering others in your own mind. From a third party’s perspective, your position hasn’t changed at all.

I’m in Seattle.
Everyone’s dreams are pretty realistic, and it’s fun to experience them vicariously.
That said, a lot of girls want to become voice actors, but I realized that career is basically impossible. There are thousands of competitors. I think making a living as a voice actor is even harder than becoming an idol.
